"Moving to the Country, Gonna Eat Alot of Peaches"

Well, at least I hope we are...
As many of you know Tyler is an avid biker. (He would call it cyclist). He amazes me with his long bike treks to who knows where on any given day. It has become one of our favorite family pass times. (shorter stints of course;)
A few weeks ago on his trek, Tyler spotted a tiny, country beauty for sale:

5 acre lot.
4 anchors in a 200 year old tree for swings.
3 horses in the back.
2 Barns.
1 tiny, country house.
Priceless fresh, open air all around.

Now, I know it may be crazy to some. Why would we move from a new, spacious home with the convenience of HEB and the mall literally in our back yard?? Well, the answer lies in the question;) We would be trading a lot for a lot for our country cottage. We love our home. It has been such a blessing to have a place roomy enough to host. The studio is priceless to Tyler and to Watson who, in my option will sleep in the barn for all I care. I love telling people that Tyler bought this house without me ever seeing it. It is a great house! BUT,

It has been our dream for always that one day we would live in the country. You know,  a place with some land. We've always thought we would love to either be in the middle of the city or way out in the country. This suburbia situation is not for us! I miss the view out my Breckenridge windows. I actually find myself looking out people's windows in commercials for a glimpse of a tree. PATHETIC, I KNOW.... I digress.

Back to the country beauty. We have put in a contingency offer on the house and have put our house on the market. We are just waiting to see what happens. If it doesn't work out we will be happy to stay where we are. It it does work out we will be elated to have a little dream home.

All of this to say, will you pray with us?  We are praying for a few specifics:
That our house will sell.
That we might buy the cottage.
That we might have some in-between time to do some work on the house before we would move in.
That's really it! Thanks for your prayers. We will keep you posted!!!!

  1. I SO hope you buy it, just so I can see how you decorate it! The shabby and distressed possibilities are endless.

  3. Love the photo of the cottage....I can't help but sing, "Little cabin in the woods, little man by the window stood..." you get the drift. I love the way you write. I can hear you saying each word. I am praying that God will show you clearly and make His way known. Hugs!
