Tabletop Tapestry

Last Saturday Second Baptist South hosted our annual Tabletop Tapestry. It was crazy. Let me back up a bit. Last year was the South Campus' first Tabletop Tapestry and BOY was I unprepared. Little did I know that it was going to be showcase of monumental proportions. I THOUGHT that I had a great idea. I collect teapots, so I set out to decorate a "Mad Chatter" table. Well, let's just say that my cutesy idea didn't hold a candle to the tables that these women put together. One woman had a tree on her table. Another woman had her favorite chair on her table. It was outrageous. Here is a picture of my table last year:

Not sure why the next picture is sideways...Oh, that tree in the background is  not "the" tree either. That's another tree table. They both were awesome! Meanwhile, it looked like Mary Engelbreit threw up on my table;)

Although my table was a little too cutesy, it was a big day for me. It was the first time that I had ever led worship and played the piano at the same time;) I wish I had a picture of it;( Here I am with my partner in crime, G.

This year I came with my Tabletop game face on. Go big or go home! I had no idea what theme I would do, so I enlisted my secret weapon, Erica. She was the brain behind the operation. She had the great idea of using my collection of bird cages. We built our table around the idea of a songbird. (Note: my friend, Becky, told me that a couple years ago at the Woodway campus a lady did a birdcage theme. The cage had real doves in it. Just sayin).  Here Erica and I are with our table:

And here is the Songbird table!

If you're wondering what is in the cages, it's scrolled music. In the biggest cage we stacked hymnals, razmataz, lights and anything else we liked;)
All in all I think it turned out pretty cute pretty cute! Tabletop was lots of fun and such a great tool to get ladies in the doors of our church that might not come otherwise! Thanks E, for putting up with  me- as always. I love you.
